Dr. Mu Tianqi was investigated by the Bureau of Science and Security for violating the "AI Ethics Law" by giving human consciousness to robots.
This is the Bureau of Science and Technology's bargaining chip to blackmail him: either go to jail or cooperate.
The goal of the cooperation is his ongoing "Project Traceability" experiment - trying to encode human brainwave information into a command core to replace the fragile human body and travel through wormholes.
The purpose of the cooperation is to save Lanxing - a bill passed by Western chaebols 50 years ago put Lanxing in 2100 into an ecological crisis and will soon be unsuitable for human survival.
